PACKING & TO DO LIST

Travel Gear Pack light or we will be very crowded (remember that at time you may have to haul all your stuff on your own over some distances). Bring soft, squishable luggage. Excess baggage may have to be left at our departure point hotel. Leave room to bring back rocks for yourself if not for the leaders.

  • sturdy boots, we may be issued rubber boots if the mines are wet.
  • wind breaker
  • short sleeve shirts
  • long sleeve shirts: good, travel and mine wear (required in mines)
  • pants: good, travel and mine wear
  • hat / cap
  • hard hat (these can be packed in a community bag and sent as luggage)
  • personal items
  • alarm clock
  • sunscreen

  • cash & credit cards (MC, Visa accepted everywhere; cash for tourist items and meals. Avoid travelers checks- they are a major headache to convert to local currency and the exchange rate is poor. ATM's are common and a convenient means for obtaining local currency).
